City of Edmond Requires Face Coverings Inside Buildings
The City of Edmond requires face coverings inside all businesses in the city limits. Mercy Fitness Center members are required to wear a mask that covers the mouth and nose whenever:
- Entering or exiting the building
- Walking through the building
- Participating in an exercise that is not cardio (aerobic) in nature
Aquatics activities do not require a face covering. Members are asked to ensure social distancing of at least six feet when masks are removed for exempt activities. Members are also asked to follow the posted signage when they reach the area where they will be exercising.
Learn more about the City of Edmond Face Covering Ordinance and extensions at the city’s COVID update page.
Pool and aquatics area procedures
Our exercise pool, lap pool, and spa are open with no capacity limits. Our pools no longer require reservations. Please limit your time in both the pool area and locker rooms to no more than 90 minutes to allow other members access to the pools and locker rooms. Large towels are available for member use. Hairdryers are available in the locker rooms.
Swim lessons and aquatics group classes
Swim lessons and training in the pools are available. Minors may be accompanied by one adult in the pool area during swim lessons.
Can I use my favorite cardio machine?
Yes! The Mercy Fitness Center fitness floor encompasses more than 50,000 square feet of space and plenty of machines to maintain a minimum of 6 feet of social distancing from other members while working out.
Remember to practice good member etiquette by being mindful of other members and wiping down each machine using the provided cleaning solution once you’ve finished your workout.
Group exercise guidelines
Group exercise classes (land and water) are being held with temporary limited capacities and schedules. Aquatics classes will follow the capacity guidelines listed in the Aquatics tab above. All other group exercise classes will be subject to these maximum participant limits:
- Studio 1: 20 members
- Cycle Studio: 12 members
- Pick up a group exercise pass at the front desk within 30 minutes of class start time
- Remember to allow time for health screening at the main entrance
Members are asked to maintain a distance of 6-10 feet from others when exercising, walking through the fitness center, or in the locker rooms.
What is Mercy Fitness Center doing to ensure the health and safety of members?
The fitness center has been divided into “cleaning zones” that will be cleaned by dedicated staff members throughout the day while members are present. In addition, those zones and all high-touch areas will receive a thorough deep-cleaning at the end of every day. Mercy Fitness Center staff will continue to maintain compliance with all CDC, state and local government cleaning, health, and safety guidelines.
What can members do to help?
Please follow the following member etiquette guidelines to help keep our community healthy:
