Member Spotlight: Jim Shaw

If you’re tired of being tired and want to boost your energy levels, just ask member Jim Shaw what it takes to be able to keep up with two small children.

Jim has been a Mercy Fitness Center member for a few years now, but last November, he decided that working out on his own just wasn’t enough anymore. He had new goals, so he sought the help of personal trainer Erin Covey.

“My goals were to increase strength, have better stamina and endurance, more energy, and overall, a healthier lifestyle,” Jim explains.

Training with Erin was just the nudge Jim needed to take his personal fitness to the next level. In the months since he has started personal training, Jim says he’s getting stronger. He sleeps better at night, and has more energy throughout the day. That’s especially important now that he’s got a 2-year-old and an infant who need him to be at his energetic best. Even his stress level, Jim says, is easier to manage, and he just feels better.

“Erin is very personable and makes the workouts fun, yet challenging,” Jim says. “(She) is genuinely interested in my success. I took a couple of months off for family reasons and she stayed in touch, asking how everything was going, which prompted me to return to working out sooner than I would have otherwise.”

Congratulations, Jim, on taking the steps necessary to reach your wellness goals!
